On March 19, 2006 I lost Chief to heart disease, his little 5 year old heart just couldn't beat no more. Two days later we pick out Thom from our local shelter. He has his own page now, so you can visit anytime.
I would like to welcome you all to my kitty's web site. My name is Debbie and my hobby is taking pictures of my cat's. I especially like the unusual or funny ones the best........lol. As you will see I have had 5 cat's total in my lifetime and had lost my 2 older ones within a year of each other and Chief just this year (2006). I have seen both Bailey and Skippy when they were 1 hour old, Bailey was from my neighbor's litter and Skippy was from my brother's litter in 1984.
Bailey came into my life just after I lost Midnight. I was planning on getting her so Midnight could meet her new sisfur but she had left my life too soon. I waited a little longer because I didn't feel right bringing Bailey into the house so soon. Skippy was starting to miss Minnie so I decided to take Bailey and see what would happen. It was about 1 1/2 weeks and both Skippy & Bailey were buddies.
Chief came into my life right after I lost Skippy. I wasn't planning on getting another cat so soon and especially didn't want to get another kitten. Bailey wasn't eating too well and it was starting to go on 2 weeks, so I thought we better get her a companion. She missed Skippy so much, and what made it worst is that she didn't even get to spend a whole year with him. We went to our local Humane Society and I started looking at the oldest cat's that were there. There wasn't much to choose from because most of them were kittens. There was a charcoal gray one about 9 months old that seem to be gentle but my husband kept going back to a cage with a 3 month old Chief in it. They had him listed as 3 months but we later found out from our vet he was about 5-6 months because he almost had all his adult teeth.
Chief turned out to be a good choice because he is so loving, trusting, and gentle. Nothing fazes this guy, he's still is hard to teach to stay off certain things, I have used just about every product on the market but I have come to the conclusion that he isn't very bright which I think makes him the loving, trusting, gentle soul he is..........
